Restructuring of Cardiac Imaging services available on the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) will take effect on 1st August 2020. Central to this restructuring is the referral requirements placed on the cardiac services provided by Logan Heart Services.
Referrals that do not meet criteria outlined in the MBS may be unable to be claimed under the scheme, resulting in the full fee to be passed on to the patient.

A Coronary Angiogram is a unique X-Ray of your heart performed in a Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory (Cath Lab), which is similar to an operating theatre.
24 HOUR BLOOD PRESSURE MONITOR
A 24 hour blood pressure monitor is designed to measure a patients blood pressure at regular intervals over a 24 hour period.
12 LEAD ELECTROCARDIOGRAM (ECG)
An electrocardiogram, or ECG is a 10 second electrical recording of a patients heart rate and rhythm.
An echocardiogram or echo as it is sometimes referred to, is an ultrasound examination of a patients heart.
EXERCISE STRESS TEST
An exercise stress test is a walking test performed on a treadmill under the supervision of a cardiologist and trained cardiac technician.
A holter monitor is a simplified ECG monitor designed to record your heart rate and rhythm over approximately a 24 hour period.
A small device is placed on your skin over your pacemaker, and information from the pacemaker is transmitted to the doctors computer.
A Stress Echocardiogram involves combining an exercise stress test and a modified echocardiogram.
